Hiring a DJ

Never hired a DJ before?  Or maybe, you're talking to DJ's but want to ask the right questions?  You don't know, what you don't know... you know.  Lets start with separating truth from myths. Here's my list of things you should know:

Myth:   All a DJ does is play music. So really, it doesn't matter who you hire; anyone can do it.

Truth:   I can talk for hours on the differences between DJs. But to keep it short, you tend to get what you pay for. More experienced DJ tend to cost more. Their equipment is higher end, which gives you better quality  and more even sound in your space. This is something you don't notice until it's poor. Everyone can hear bad sounding equipment - and then it's too late.

Myth: DJing is an easy way to make money.

Truth: This couldn't be farther from the truth. Being a DJ takes years of dedication, practice, patience and ton of audio gear, fancy lighting and knowhow. Great DJ's upgrade there gear on a regular bases, not cheep. But that's the cost of putting on a great show for an audience AND I love it!!

Myth: DJ's are the same, same music and lights..

Truth: This can be broken down into a few category's. Experience; Time behind the turntables creating a music mixing style unlike anyone else's.

Personally; Great DJ's have fantastic people & speaking skills, encouraging dancing & movement.

Myth:

Truth:

Am I able to request the music I want for my wedding/event?

Yes... of course!  Music requests are always welcome. We have over 300K songs at the touch of a button, and have the ability to stream a wide range services to find that banger your looking for. There is such a thing as, terrible taste in music. But that doesn't mean I can't twist it up into a fun & amazing dance mix.

What if I have a hard time talking Infront of a crowd?

Talking on a microphone or being the center of attention for some individuals can be a serious, nerve racking experience  or phobia. Let us do the talking. A great MC can keep your guests engaged & focused on the what's being presented. You can relax while I make all the announcements through out the night.

Do you have itinerary templates?

Yes.. Absolutely we have a Ceremony and Reception itineraries. No event is the same,! We are not the cookie cutter DJ service.

We'll work together to build your custom Itinerary that you'll be excited about.

( But my photographer already has a time line and itinerary, can you work with Their schedule?)... Yes, Following direction is much easier then creating them. And saves a ton of time for both of us, so we can focus on your music selections together.

How much space do you need for all your equipment?

Awesome, A tough question...  Sufficient place is super important to create the best sound experience for your guests to hear. But also needs to look good, with dance lights and all the extra add on's. Each package we offer has a different equipment setup requirement. With the platinum package 18'x10' is the minimum requirement. Our DYI, being the smallest 4'x3' is required. At the same time, we can customize an audio system that fits the venue's  chosen space.

Do you have a Contract?

Yes... We do have a Standard & simple contract. Scheduling a time that will work best, we will have a phone call or zoom meeting to read thought the contract. I can answer any & all question you may have at that time as well.
